I am so sorry you have to feel this way... I understand from my own experiences how feeling this way can make you numb and feeling any real genuine true emotions the way you use to whole heatedly feel is no longer a thing. maybe it will never be a thing again.. I can't imagine the trauma and hurt\heart break that one has to endure by one or several people that would have you feel that way about yourself...
I will say tho...
I am the only one who is responsible for my own happiness. yes I feel like i got kicked in the face and ran over by a train but when I heel and rise up bigger, better and stronger I will be proud knowing I did it! look at me. remember this face because here I am world!!! you can beny friend or foe. i suggest friend...
There is nothing I can say that will make it better but it will get better... you deserve happiness. give it to yourself...
This is just my opinion.. Thank you

The comments here are as always interesting. If we dare to reveal our feelings we fear being seen as weak. I think it is important to use language to do more than announce our anger at being criticized. It is a struggle but when I admit I am confused or startled to a query if I am angry the conversation is concluded. I have accepted it is my problem not the one who might have done something sort of rude or mean. It is often that they are uneasy about timing or their own insecurities.

I don't actually think you've made a list of true feelings under the guise of hurt- the rest of these words are all pseudo feelings and are actually accusational/judgement/action words.

what would be better as a true feeling to the word hurt- would be sad, mad, afraid. Feeling sad/mad thinking that someone you trusted would say something like that to you and feeling afraid that this is the beginning of the relationship degrading. etc.

Most words that end in ed are going to land you in an action word and not a feeling. No one can Sad you, or mad you, or afraid you. but they can belittle you, invalidate you, confuse, scare, or surprise you. These words are going to put walls up in the connection.

Blocked, foreign, angled, whipped, played, a pawn, misled. Yet I never let on that any of these things has any affect because I don't want to seem "sensitive". I find myself so frazzled in the moment, I simply accept the treatment, considering that perhaps it is true, and that I must be deserving of that treatment or it would not occur. I continue to be stepped upon, and overlooked when someone else takes my recognition as their own. I thought it was just the job I was at but now it is also happening at my latest job. It must be me. It has to be. Right?
Could my empathic tendencies be linked to having been emotionally stunted? I still want to cry when I see a dead animal on the road. I have a very difficult time controlling my emotions. I'm 53 y/o, sadly.

Misunderstood. Judged. Silenced. Frustrated. Defeated. Erased. Powerless. Unreal.
This is how I feel when family members show no interest in knowing how I truly feel and when I try to explain am just made to feel I am bothering them or am “wrong” in how I feel or see things. They mean well and are not unkind and just want to help me see things the “right” way (their way), or to change the subject to pleasantries but the result is that I feel the above feelings I listed. Also invisible and squelched which are on your list. They are so well meaning though and if I confront them it only results in their feeling being hurt which causes me to then have to add guilt and sad to the list. I’m supposed to only be grateful and not “negative”. Confused could be another word.
